60 inch flexible hose
One of the benefits of using a dual shower head is the unrestricted movement it provides with the handheld wand. The Ana Bath SS5450CBN stands out among the best with their 60 inch flexible hose. It allows you to move the handheld spray around to places you didn’t even know water could go. For cleaning purposes of course. If you’re a caretaker, whether it be for mobility challenged elderly, small kids or even pets, you’ll love the freedom this shower head provides. You’ll also never have an excuse for leaving soap rings around the tub, the hose will be able to reach everywhere. Just give it a quick spray and your shower will look as good as the day you bought it.
Water saving flow rate
With a flow rate of 2.31 GPM you won’t be able to remodel your bathroom with the cost savings but it will help a little bit, plus you’ll be helping the environment. Or you can spend a few extra minutes in the shower while using the same amount of water. It’s up to you. However, if you do want a bit more of a kick when it comes to your shower there’s a little trick you can do. Which brings me to my next point.
Flow limiter can be taken out
If you love a powerful shower spray you’ll want to remove the flow limiter. With the Ana Bath SS5450CBN it’s a breeze to remove, but you’ll have to do it twice – once for each head. Removing the flow limiter will increase the flow rate and increase the pressure giving you a much more invigorating spray. It takes a bit of extra effort but you’ll have it out in less than 5 minutes.
Typically you want to unscrew the fixed shower head from the 3-way diverter mount and look for a circular piece of plastic with several holes. Pull it out with a pair of pliers or a bent paperclip. If there is a black o-ring, put that back in after you remove the limiter.
On the handheld device, you need to unscrew it from the hose and do the same thing.
In case my horrible explanation wasn’t clear, Ana Bath is thoughtful enough to include step-by-step instructions to help you.
Switching between heads is easy
There is an easily accessible knob on the left side of the mount. Just turn it with one hand and it switches from the fixed head to the handheld device to dual action. No effort required.
Beautiful brushed nickel finish
Brushed nickel has got to be my favorite shower head finish. It’s not as glaring as polished chrome and not as specific as antique bronze. It’s just right. You’ll have no problem matching it to whatever style of bathroom you have. Modern, contemporary, traditional or minimalist. This dual shower head will make itself at home in any environment.
Great pressure while using both heads
Using both heads obviously uses more water, and there’s only so much that can get through that small pipe. But somehow, by some magical feat of engineering, the Ana Bath SS5450CBN provides fantastic nearly changeless water pressure. I’m not saying there isn’t a small decrease but you’ll hardly even know, much less care.
Easy to install
Despite looking complex and cumbersome the shower head is surprisingly easy to install. I’ll save you from my mangled attempt at explaining how to install it with these instructions, which are also included with the shower head.
What’s not so good?
Little variation between settings
While this shower head a multitude of settings to pick from there isn’t much of a difference between them. That’s not to say they’re bad, but if you were expecting a world of difference, you’re out of luck.
A bit pricey
With the Ana Bath SS5450CBN, you’re getting a well built, quality dual shower head and the price reflects that. While it’s still within reason, if you’re on a super tight budget you might want to consider something else.
The Ana Bath SS5450CBN is a well built, good looking dual shower head that is a pleasure to use. As far as affordable dual shower heads go, this is one of the best. The brushed nickel finish looks like it belongs in a luxury hotel and has the spray power to match. Switching between heads is effortless and if you use both at once you can cut down on your shower time when you’re in a hurry. It’s a great choice if you want to sleep in a few extra minutes. And best of all, you’ll be saving on your water bill with its 2.31 GPM flow rate.
You’ll be wondering why you did’t switch to a dual shower head sooner.
