Reduces 99% of chlorine and scale
Are you tired on your shower smelling like chlorine and constantly having to clean scale off of your shower head? The Culligan WSH-C125 eliminates the majority of chlorine and scale so that you can have a pure, refreshing shower, free of contaminants. Chlorine is known cause to a whole bunch of health related issues including cancer, heart disease and respiratory issues.
Depending on the age of the plumbing in your home or the area where you live, you may also be at risk of rust contaminated water. This shower filter removes the rust along with the rotten egg smell that usually comes with it.
Improves skin and hair health
As if debilitating health effects and nasty odors weren’t enough, chlorine also wreaks havoc on your hair and skin. While beneficial to removing harmful bacteria it will strip your hair of its natural oils resulting in dry, brittle hair.
Have you ever felt itchy and dry after taking a shower? That’s the chlorine. It causes dry, itchy skin resulting in rashes and premature aging.
But don’t fret! Installing a shower filter is not only great for your overall health but it’ll help restore your hair’s natural beauty and give your skin a radiant glow.
5 spray settings
Okay, enough doom and gloom about chlorine. The Culligan WSH-C125 has three full spray settings and two combo settings to perfectly suit your mood. Choose from a full body spray for maximum water coverage, to a soft rain for a gentle contemplative shower to an invigorating pulse to help relax your sore muscles after a hard workout or long day at work. Or if you just can’t pick one, choose from a full body/ gentle rain combo or full body spray/ massage. The choice is yours.
Filter is good for 10,000 gallons
Because the shower head is constantly filtering out impurities it’s only natural that you’ll have to replace it on a regular basis. The good news is that you won’t have to replace it that often. Each filter is good for about 10,000 gallons of water or about six months of regular use. They cost about half the price of the shower head itself but can you really put a price on your health? It’s worth it in the long run.
Cartridge is easy to change
Changing the cartridge is a breeze and can be done in a matter of minutes. Here’s how:
- Hold the body of the shower head with one hand. With the other hand, turn the gripped ring behind the grey shower face counterclockwise until it separates.
- Remove the white cartridge but pulling up and to the right.
- There should be a sticker on both sides of the cartridge. Remember to remove them both before installing.
- Put the new cartridge into place by pushing it down until it’s seated.
- Screw it back into where you removed it from by turning it clockwise.
- Check for leaks and tighten if needed. Remember to run the water for 5 minutes before using it yourself.
Anti-clog rubber nozzles
Because you’re filtering out most of the scale, you’ll rarely need to clean the Culligan WSH-C125. But just in case, for that 1% that does get through, they’ve made it super easy to clean. Just rub the nozzles while you’re taking a shower and the build up will flake right off. If you’re obsessed about cleanliness and hate water stains, give it a quick wipe down with a cloth every now and then. It’ll look brand new.
Removable flow limiter
This shower head already has outstanding water pressure. But if you’re like me and love a strong shower, you may want to remove the flow limiter. It takes a few minutes but it’s well worth it. Here’s what you do.
- Remove your shower head from the shower arm.
- Using a tweezer or needle nose pliers, remove the black gasket from the top where the threads are. Keep this piece.
- Look for the white disk and remove it along with the o-ring underneath.
- Put the black gasket back in place.
- Screw the shower head back on.
Installation is quick and easy but I’ve covered it on the front page already so I’m not going to cover it here.
What’s not so good?
Stream is a bit too narrow
I had to struggle to find a con about this shower head just to try to balance out the review but I really couldn’t think of anything major. The one thing that some people may find annoying is that the stream itself is kind of narrow. I personally don’t mind it but some may take issue with it.
It removes 99% of chlorine, rust, scale and other contaminants leaving you with fresh, pure water. In turn, you’ll start to notice that your hair and skin looks and feels softer with a naturally healthy glow that people will notice. Furthermore, if you suffer from dry, itchy skin chances are good that it’s the chlorine in the water causing it. This shower filter takes care of it all.
