Niagara Earth Massage Shower Head Review
If saving water and money is your main priority, no shower head does it better than the Niagara Earth Massage.
Featuring an incredibly low flow rate of 1.25 GPM the Earth Massage puts out 50% less water than a regular shower head, cutting your water bill in half and reducing heating costs. You can choose between two settings – gentle spray or forceful massage – depending on how you’re feeling. In addition to the awesome water savings, this shower head is extremely affordable so you can buy one for every shower in your house, further reducing your costs.
If you prefer water savings over everything else, you need the Niagara Earth Massage.
Uses 50% less water
The issue of water conservation is becoming more and more important these days. If saving water is of utmost importance to you then the Niagara Earth Massage low flow shower head has you covered. With a flow rate of 1.25 GPM it puts out half the amount of water than a regular shower head and even sprays less water than a typical low flow head shower head. Less water means you’ll be paying less on your water bills and less on heating costs.
Two settings – regular and massage
This shower head features a 9-nozzle adjustable water saving spray that easily rotates between the two settings. Choose from a gentle needle spray that envelops your body in a warm, comforting blanket of water or a forceful jet that lightly massages your tired muscles. The settings may not be as numerous or fancy as other shower heads but it gets the job done. And for the price who could complain? Which brings me to my next point.
The best part about the Niagara Earth Massage is the price. For under $10 you can drastically reduce your water bill and improve your shower experience. In a couple of months the shower head pays for itself with the savings on your utility bill – that’s heat and water. Money issues are one of the main causes of stress, but with this shower head you can de-stress under the soothing spray while knowing you spent less than three cups of coffee and with the knowledge that your water bill won’t be astronomical.
Easy to install
This shower head is quite small so it’s really easy to install. Anybody can do it. You probably won’t even need tools. (If your old shower head is stubborn and won’t come off by hands you may need a wrench.)
- Grip your old shower head by the base where it’s connected to the shower arm and turn it counter clockwise (to the left)
- Remove any debris from the threads on the arm. And re-tape it with a fresh layer of plumbers tape.
- Screw your new shower head on by turning it clockwise (to the right) as tight as you can.
- Turn it on to test for leaks and enjoy!
If it does happen to leak try putting a few more layers of plumbers tape on the threads.

Available in white or chrome
Choose between a polished chrome finish that goes great with any bathroom style or go for a classic all white finish. I prefer the chrome, it looks much more sleek and modern.
What’s not so good?
Being so inexpensive, it’s only natural that you get what you pay for. It sprays water at you so you can wash yourself. That’s it. There’s not much to the head itself, it’s small and made of plastic. The two settings are basic and almost boring. But it works and is affordable.
Again, it’s made of cheap plastic and it’s obvious. This shower head won’t be winning any awards in the looks department.
Water pressure could be better
With a flow rate of 1.25 GPM the output of water is going to suffer. If you have thick hair, you’d better look elsewhere because it’s going to take a while to get the suds out. The massage setting is underwhelming to say the least.
Niagara offers a similar model with a flow rate of 1.5 GPM and it’s significantly better with a similar price.
The Niagara Earth Massage is a great low flow shower head for the price but that’s about it. If you’re looking for an invigorating shower experience you won’t find it here. This shower head is all about the water savings, which in that sense is amazing. The spray is pretty weak on both settings even if your home has solid pressure. But if you’re strapped for cash and really want a water saving shower head it will do the trick.
