Removes chlorine and other harmful chemicals
The Sprite HO2-WH-M shower head filter does a great job of filtering out most of the chlorine from your water so you can rest easy knowing you’re not being exposed to the harmful chemical. In addition, it also filters out hydrogen sulfide, which gives off that rotten egg smell. If you have an older home with outdated plumbing or depending on the area you live, you may have rusty pipes which can cause iron oxide to contaminate your water. Fortunately this filter takes care of that too, as well as any dirt or sediment that may be mixed in.
Promotes skin and hair health
Why is it important to remove the chlorine?
For starters, if you’re really itchy after taking a shower it’s because the chlorine is being absorbed through your skin. The heat from the water causes your pores to expand and chlorine to seep in, stripping your skin of its natural oils. It can cause your skin to dry out and crack which can lead to winkles and premature aging.
Chlorine affects hair the same way, by stripping it of it’s natural oils, drying it out and making it brittle. This results in hair loss, shine and flexibility
The Sprite HO2-WH-M shower head filter eliminates all that stuff so your skin remains radiant and your hair soft and healthy.
3 spray settings
With three spray settings to indulge in there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From a full body rainfall spray that envelopes you in a comforting blanket of water, to a powerful massage jet that will take care of any sore muscles after an intense workout or a grueling day at work. There’s also a setting in between for when you want the best of both worlds.
Filter lasts 25,000 gallons
A shower filters job is to catch all the nasty stuff that lives in your water. But it can only hold so much, so naturally that filter needs to be replaced every now and then. Fortunately this cartridge is unmatched when it comes to the amount of water it can filter without replacement. It’s good for about 25,000 gallons of water which is roughly one year of regular use.
Reversible filter cartridge
The filter cartridge will last about a year before you need to replace it but it is suggested that you flip it after six months to get the most out of it. It’s pretty easy to do:
- Unscrew the cartridge housing (see below) from the dome-like piece that attaches to the shower arm.
- Remove the filter (see above) and flip it around.
- Put it back in and screw it back together.
That’s all there is to it. You’ll be set for another six months.
Shower head can be removed from filter
Lets face it. The Sprite HO2-WH-M shower filter isn’t winning any beauty contests. Luckily if you aren’t a fan of the look of it, you can just buy the filter and attach your own shower head. You’ll enjoy the benefits of a clean and pure water supply while still matching your shower head to your bathroom decor. It’s a win-win.
Water pressure unaffected
Even though the water has to go through a rigorous filtering process the pressure is not affected. So if your home has great water pressure you’ll experience the same invigorating spray. But if you have low water pressure this shower head filter won’t do anything to increase it. In that case you might want to buy just the filter and pair it with a high pressure shower head.
What’s not so good?
Doesn’t look that great
This shower head filter does exactly what it’s supposed to do and that’s it. It’s a bit big and bulky. It’s made of gaudy white plastic. What more can I say? This thing is the ugly duckling of the shower head world.
Plastic is prone to cracking
According to some Amazon.com reviewers, the plastic isn’t the best quality and could crack under high pressure. Just keep that in mind.
If the only reason you’re getting a shower head filter is to purify your water then the Sprite HO2-WH-M is up to the task. It removes chlorine and other nasty impurities that are all too common in most water sources. It filters 25,000 gallons of water before you need to change the filter – which is about once a year.
If, however, you want something that looks great you’re better off looking elsewhere because this shower head filter isn’t winning any awards for aesthetics. But it does the job.
